Snowball Analytics Alternatives 2026: 6 Dividend Trackers Worth a Look

By Benjamin Siegel • Published October 25, 2026 • TopDividendTools.com

The best Snowball Analytics alternatives in 2026 are Sharesight for accurate returns and tax reports, Stock Events for the cheapest full-featured app at $49.99 a year, Simply Safe Dividends if dividend safety is your top worry, and getquin or DivTracker if you want free broker syncing. If you just want free and fully custom, a Google Sheets tracker still works.

Snowball is still my default pick for most dividend investors, and it's number one on my list of the best free dividend trackers. But it's not perfect for everyone. The free plan stops at 10 holdings, and the paid plans start at $79.99 a year. So here's what I'd look at instead, depending on what you actually need, with real 2026 pricing from each company's own site.

Tracking income ETFs? A tracker shows what you own. TopDividendETFsPRO helps you decide what to own: advanced filtering, ratings, live yields and price decay flags for 130+ income ETFs. From $12.95/mo, or lifetime access.

Why People Look for a Snowball Analytics Alternative

Usually it comes down to one of four things:

Figure out which of those is your real problem first. That one answer will pick the tool for you.

1. Sharesight: The Best Alternative for Accuracy and Taxes

If you're leaving Snowball because you want the real numbers, Sharesight is the one. It shows your true return including dividends, it tracks DRIP shares so you can see what reinvesting is actually doing for you, and it handles currency moves on foreign holdings. Every paid plan includes tax reports, which is the biggest gap in Snowball.

The free plan is 1 portfolio and 10 holdings, but here's the catch: sold positions count toward that limit. Paid plans start at $7 a month billed annually, and holdings only become unlimited on the $18-a-month Standard plan. I went deep on this matchup in Snowball Analytics vs Sharesight if you're torn between those two.

Pick it if: you hold across several brokers or countries, you use DRIPs, or tax season is a headache.

2. Stock Events: The Cheapest Full-Featured Alternative

Stock Events is the value pick. The free plan tracks up to 15 stocks (5 more than Snowball's free plan) with watchlist, portfolio, dividend and event tracking. Pro is $49.99 a year and unlocks unlimited stocks, portfolio analytics and advanced dividend features. That's about $30 a year less than Snowball's Starter plan.

One thing to know: automatic syncing with your brokerage is a separate add-on called Connect, at $0.99 a week. Without it, you update your portfolio manually. If you don't trade much, manual updates are no big deal. The dividend calendar screen is the part users rave about, and it's easy to see why.

Pick it if: you want a clean app with a great dividend calendar and you don't want to pay much.

3. Simply Safe Dividends: The Pick If You Fear Dividend Cuts

Simply Safe Dividends is a different animal. It's a research service with a portfolio tracker built in, and it's priced like one: $468 a year, annual only, no discounts. There's a free trial with no credit card and a 60-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers.

What you're paying for is the Dividend Safety Scores, alerts when a company changes its dividend, valuation charts, stock and CEF screeners, an income calendar and forecast, and their analyst research and newsletter. Unlimited portfolios are included.

This is the part most people miss: for a portfolio of a few dozen dividend stocks, avoiding one bad dividend cut can be worth more than the subscription. But if you mostly own ETFs like $SCHD or $JEPQ, you're paying for stock research you won't use much. In that case I'd rather put that money to work.

Pick it if: you own a lot of individual dividend stocks and want someone checking the safety of every payout.

4. getquin: Free Broker Syncing

getquin is popular with European investors and priced in euros. Its biggest selling point is the free plan: unlimited bank and broker connections, real-time data and a net worth overview, all at no cost. That fixes one of Snowball's free plan limits right away.

The dividend-specific tools, like personal dividend KPIs and forecasting, are in Premium at €89.99 a year, along with AI portfolio analysis and deeper performance analytics. There's also a Wealth tier at €149.99 a year for financial planning.

Pick it if: you want everything synced automatically for free, especially if your brokers are in Europe.

5. DivTracker: Simple Mobile Dividend Tracking

DivTracker does one thing and does it well: it shows your daily, monthly and annual dividend income on your phone. You can link US brokerage accounts so you don't have to update holdings by hand, track multiple portfolios, see confirmed and estimated upcoming payouts, and get notifications on payment dates. It covers thousands of US, LSE and ASX stocks, among others.

The app is free to download with optional in-app purchases for premium features. It's not as deep as Snowball on analytics, but if all you want is to open your phone and see the income number go up, it's hard to beat.

Pick it if: you want the simplest possible dividend income app.

6. Google Sheets: The Free, Unlimited Option

Before any of these apps existed, plenty of us tracked dividends in a spreadsheet. It still works. With the GOOGLEFINANCE function you can pull prices, and you can log every dividend, calculate yield on cost and build your own income chart. No holding limits, no subscription, total control.

The downside is time. You'll be entering dividends yourself, and spreadsheets break. Pair it with a free dividend calendar so you know what's coming.

Pick it if: you like building things and want zero cost forever.

My honest take on switching: the best tracker is the one you'll actually keep updated. I've seen people bounce between four apps in a year and never look at their real numbers. Pick one, link your broker, and leave it alone.

Which Snowball Alternative Should You Pick?

And if none of those reasons apply to you, stay with Snowball. For a dividend-focused investor it's still the best all-around dashboard, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise just to fill a list.

What No Tracker Will Tell You

I've been a dividend investor for over ten years, and the biggest lesson is this: a tracker only shows you what you already own. It'll happily show a fund paying you 15% while the share price slides every month and quietly eats your capital.

Before you add any high-yield ETF, check its total return and price decay. I built TopDividendETFsPRO to show exactly that for 130+ income ETFs, and you can get a free version of that view on TopDividendETFs.com. To see what a given amount in a dividend ETF could pay you over time, try DividendProjection.com. And if you like getting paid often, MonthlyETFs.com and WeeklyETFs.com track the monthly and weekly payers.

For the rest of your toolkit, use one of the best dividend screeners to find ideas and one of the best DRIP calculators to model what reinvesting does over 10 or 20 years.

FAQ: Snowball Analytics Alternatives

Which dividend trackers offer better features or pricing than Snowball Analytics?

Stock Events is cheaper at $49.99 a year for Pro versus $79.99 for Snowball's Starter plan, and its free plan tracks 15 stocks instead of 10. Sharesight has better total return tracking and includes tax reports on paid plans. Simply Safe Dividends has deeper dividend safety research, and getquin offers free unlimited broker connections.

What is the best free alternative to Snowball Analytics?

For free broker syncing, getquin. For the most stocks on a free plan, Stock Events with up to 15. For no limits at all, a Google Sheets tracker. Sharesight's free plan is also solid but caps you at 10 holdings, including sold positions.

Is Sharesight better than Snowball Analytics?

For accurate total returns, DRIP tracking, currency impacts and tax reports, yes. For a dividend-focused dashboard with income projections and a payout calendar at a lower price, Snowball is usually the better fit.

What is the best dividend tracker overall?

For most dividend investors I still start with Snowball Analytics. The best alternative depends on your reason for switching: Sharesight for taxes, Stock Events for price, Simply Safe Dividends for dividend safety, and getquin for free syncing.
